Challenge:
- Contamination by hydrocarbons, PAH, BTEX, HVOC, polar solvents, phenols, chlorobenzene, persistent organic compounds, heavy metals esp. mercury, MTBE, cyclohexane, site specific pharmaceutics.
Solutions:
- Dismantling, demolition, road work, dewatering, specific piling, excavation under depressurized enclosure with air treatment until 15 m bgl requiring sustaining structure, buried waste sorting (non hazardous solid waste & hazardous liquids in drums, asbestos), backfilling, pond & stream rehabilitation, groundwater treatment.
- Treatment by incineration, stabilisation, on site reuse, off site fixed soil treatment facility.
Duration: 16 months to 2,5 years (5 to 8 years for groundwater). Completion in 2021.
